Leaving Cert Curriculum
At Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown, the Leaving Cert begins in 5th Year, when students commence the Leaving Certificate Programme. During this stage, students typically study seven subjects, chosen to reflect their interests, strengths, and future goals. The programme builds on Junior Cycle learning while promoting greater independence and preparing students for further education, training, and life beyond school.
Leaving Cert subject options are selected towards the end of Transition Year (4th Year). Classes are forty minutes in duration and are scheduled as a combination of single and double periods across the various subjects.
